Introduction to yoga poses, philosophy and history for children ages 7-12.
One missed class only may be made up in a regular weekly yoga class by an adult from the family. No refunds, credits or make ups are available for any additional missed classes except in the case of illness, injury or family emergency.

Experience yoga postures with the support of our yoga rope wall. The wall ropes provide support, traction, balance and leverage in a full range of poses. Learning the Ropes workshops are open to students who have completed at least one 8-week session of Iyengar Yoga classes.

Approaches to Practice with Karen Allgire

We keep our yoga practice lively and engaging when we change our perspective. Any given asana can be approached in numerous ways. This workshop will explore various possibilities for creating balance and integration through yoga practice. Topics will include paired actions and their effects, integration of body, breath and mind, the five elements and other aspects of yoga philosophy.
Healthy Neck and Shoulders with Karen Allgire
Learn adapted yoga postures and prop uses that bring comfort, mobility and balance to the upper body. This workshop will help you release chronic tension from these areas and discover new possibilities for a balance of strength and freedom.
Backbends with Karen Allgire
Everyone can experience the rejuvenating effects of backbends. Learn how to use support and modified stages to develop your backbend practice. These postures bring the qualities of vitality, alertness and courage, and can help avert depression.
Finding Balance: Practices for Improved Stability with Amy Runnels
In the workshop, we will explore the body’s balance mechanisms and practice techniques to improve their function. Learn to develop secure balance in standing poses and in daily life.

This gentle yoga class is designed for those who wish to move at a moderate pace. Whether you are new to yoga or getting back into shape after time off, this class will provide progressive learning of postures with a gentle approach, using a chair and other props for support.
This class is for students of all ages and conditions – yoga is for everyone!
Make up policy: Missed Gentle Chair Yoga classes can be made up in any Level 1 class. Classes must be made up by one week after the last class of a 6-week series.
