Experience yoga postures with the support of our yoga rope wall. The wall ropes provide support, traction, balance and leverage in a full range of poses. Learning the Ropes workshops are open to students who have completed at least one 8-week session of Iyengar Yoga classes.

Introduction to Pranayama with Julie Tamarkin
December 2
This workshop will be rescheduled in 2018.
Pranayama is the subtle art of yogic breathing. This class will introduce beginners to breathing practices, while also providing a review of fundamentals for those with experience of pranayama. Open to students who have taken at least six months of Iyengar Yoga classes.

Easy Necks and Shoulders with Karen Allgire
January 27
Greater comfort and flexibility are available for your neck and shoulders. Learn adapted yoga postures and prop uses that help mobilize and balance the upper body. This workshop will help you release chronic tension from these areas and discover new possibilities for ease and freedom.

Improving Bone Density through Yoga with Karen Allgire

Yoga can help build bone density, especially through the “closed chain” weight bearing that yoga poses utilize. Learn how to keep your bones strong by bearing your own weight in yoga postures.

Fundamentals of Yoga Philosophy and Sanskrit with Karen Allgire

The path of yoga is based upon principles that guide us through life and support us as we explore deeper aspects of our being. These ideas are expressed through the language of Sanskrit, which means “perfected language.” Learn to integrate yogic philosophy into your asana practice. We will chant the Sanskrit alphabet and learn how to read the diacritical marks for correct pronunciation of pose names and yogic concepts.

Feet First in Standing Poses with Amy Runnels

Learn how the structures and function of the feet relate to the knees and hips to build strong, stable and healthy actions in your standing poses. This workshop offers new and experienced practitioners alike the opportunity to enhance understanding and refine skills in the standing postures.


Gentle Chair YogaSaturdays

$72 for 6-class series, $15 for drop-ins

This gentle yoga class is designed for those who wish to move at a slower pace. Whether you are new to yoga or getting back into shape after time off, this class will provide progressive learning of postures with a gentle approach, using a chair and other props for support.

This class is for students of all ages and conditions – yoga is for everyone!

Make up policy: Missed Gentle Chair Yoga classes can be made up in any Level 1 class. Classes must be made up by one week after the last class of a 6-week series.
