Schedule

Iyengar Yoga is a highly refined approach to the practice of yoga. Its hallmarks are precise alignment, use of props as teaching tools, and adjustment of poses according to individual needs. The fruits of yoga practice include physical health and vitality, mental clarity and emotional serenity.

Class Levels

1 Beginning class for new students
2 For students with experience of Iyengar yoga
3 Continuing students with the permission of the instructor
Restorative Supported and recuperative poses for deep relaxation

Policies

Promptness
Please arrive five to ten minutes before the class starts. Inform the teacher of any injuries or health issues before class begins. If you are late, sit down quietly in the waiting room and wait until after the OM’s to enter the studio and open your mat.

Attire
Wear shorts, sweat pants or footless tights. Clothing should be comfortable and non-constricting, but not so baggy that alignment is obscured. Have bare feet and remove bulky jewelry.

Etiquette
Please refrain from wearing strong scents. Please turn off cell phones and pagers.

Food and Water
Come to class with an empty stomach. Drink plenty of water before and after, but not during class. Water bottles should not be brought into the studio except in cases of medical necessity.

Belongings
Please leave your shoes in the waiting room. Valuables should be placed on the shelves in the back corner of the studio. We provide all props. If you wish to use your own props, please label them and be sure you take home your own items.

Make Up Classes
Make up classes can be done any time during the session and through the first week of the new session. To make up a missed class you may attend any weekly yoga class. There is no need to call in advance. Please sign in for the make up class. Make ups can be done before or after the missed class. You may also use one missed class for a $10 credit toward any Saturday workshop. Missed classes are not transferable to another person or to another session.

Drop In Classes
Students doing drop in classes should sign in and pay the instructor before the class begins.

Registration
Current students are requested to register before the new session begins. Checks should be made out to Green Tara Yoga and Healing Arts. Refer to the Schedule and Fees pages for current class times and costs. You can print a Registration Form and bring it to the studio, or send it by mail to the Maple Road office address.

Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations received before a class begins may receive a refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee, or full credit toward another class. Once a class begins, refunds or credit are not available, except in special cases at the discretion of Green Tara Yoga and Healing Arts.
